** Officer at Mathematics Division from March 2018 to March 2022
Donatella Marini is full professor of Numerical Analysis at the University of Pavia. Her main field of interest is the analysis of numerical schemes for the solution of elliptic partial differential equations (of second and fourth order) by means of different kinds of finite element methods: conforming, non-conforming, hybrid, mixed, and Discontinuous Galerkin. The more recent production is devoted to a new technique, the Virtual Element Method, for polytopal discretizations of Pde’s with applications. She has been invited speaker to numerous international conferences, is member of the editorial board of journals of high level in the field of Applied Mathematics, and SIMAI representative in the Managing Board and General Assembly od Eccomas. She received the Turner-Kirk fellowship from the Isaac Newton Institute in Cambridge (UK)
