Prof. Helge Holden is Professor of Mathematics at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway. He is internationally recognised for his research in partial differential equations, mathematical physics, and stochastic analysis, with important contributions to nonlinear wave equations, hyperbolic conservation laws, and the theory of rough paths.

Prof. Holden has co-authored several influential books and numerous highly cited articles in analysis and mathematical modelling. His work spans both theoretical advances and applications in physics and engineering. In addition to his scientific achievements, he has held several leading positions in international scientific organisations.

He served as President of the European Mathematical Society (2015–2018) and is currently a Member of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters, as well as of Academia Europaea and the Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters. He has played a prominent role in European research policy and scientific collaboration in mathematics.

Prof. Helge Holden has served as Officer of the Mathematics Division since March 2023, for the mandate March 2023 – March 2026 (current and first term, in accordance with the EurASc Bylaws).
