Prof. Quan Wang is Chair Professor and Dean of the College of Civil Engineering at Shantou University, China. An internationally recognised expert in structural health monitoring, nanomechanics, and smart materials, his research bridges the fields of civil, mechanical, and materials engineering, with applications in infrastructure resilience and intelligent systems.

He has published extensively in high-impact journals and led numerous national and international research programmes. Prof. Wang serves on editorial boards of several scientific journals and has contributed significantly to the development of next-generation sensing and structural technologies. His work is widely cited and has received international recognition for both scientific impact and innovation.

2019 Blaise Pascal Medallist in Engineering

Quan Wang was awarded the Blaise Pascal Medal in Engineering by the European Academy of Sciences, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to engineering science.

 

Prof. Wang has served as Officer of the Engineering Division since May 2025, for the mandate May 2025 – April 2028 (current and first term, in accordance with the EurASc Bylaws).
