Professor Yu-Zhong Wang is a professor of Sichuan University since 1995. He founded and directed the National-Local Joint Engineering Laboratory of Eco-Friendly Polymeric Materials (Sichuan), the National-Local Joint Engineering Center for Advanced Fire-Safety Materials Development and Applications (Shandong), and the Collaborative Innovation Center for Eco-Friendly and Fire-Safety Polymeric Materials (Ministry of Education). His research interests focus on Fire-Safety Polymeric Materials, Bio-Based and Biodegradable Polymers, Recycling and Upcycling of Polymeric Materials etc.

He was selected as an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2015. He is the vice Presidents of Chinese Materials Research Society, Chinese Society for Composite Materials, and Chinese Textile Engineering Society; He served as the director of National Standardization Technical Committee for Bio-Based and Biodegradable Products, and deputy director of Fire Materials Sub-Technical Committee of National Fire Protection Standardization Technical Committee.

 He has published over 600 peer-refereed journal papers as the corresponding author, which received >22,000 citations in recent 5 years (H-index>100) according to Web of Science, and 12 books and chapters, held >200 patents, and delivered more than 100 endowed and invited lectures. He was granted the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (2005), awarded Younger Prize of Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology of Chinese Engineering Academy (2004), the National Innovation Prize (2023), and thirteen (13) Science & Technology Awards by the State Council (3), Ministry of Education (5), Provincial Governments (5) of China (1999-2019), etc.
