
The European Academy of Sciences (EurASc) is proud to congratulate Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini, Fellow of the Academy and Head of the Institute of Biomaterials at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), on receiving once again the prestigious George Winter Award 2025 from the European Society for Biomaterials (ESB).
The George Winter Award is one of the most highly regarded distinctions in the field of biomaterials. Established by the ESB, it honours outstanding contributions that advance knowledge in biomaterials science through basic, experimental, and clinical research. The 2025 award was presented at the ESB Annual Conference, held in Turin, Italy, from 7–11 September 2025.
Upon receiving the award, Prof. Boccaccini expressed his appreciation:
“I am deeply honored and grateful to the European Society for Biomaterials for the George Winter Award, which I accept on behalf of all current and former members of my research group, as well as the many collaborators from around the world who have worked with us over the years.”
This recognition highlights the excellence and global impact of Prof. Boccaccini’s work, as well as the important contributions of his research team and international collaborators to the biomaterials community.
