CERN – Geneva, 16–18 December 2025

The EurASc 2025 Symposium not only honours scientific excellence but also creates opportunities for informal exchange, cultural appreciation, and networking. The following activities are part of the official Social Programme open to registered participants.

Welcome Cocktail – 16 December 2025

To warmly welcome all participants, a Welcome Cocktail will be held on the evening of Tuesday, 16 December, at CERN.

This informal gathering will bring together EurASc Fellows, laureates, invited guests, and organisers in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere, offering an ideal opportunity to meet and connect ahead of the Symposium.

The Reception Cocktail will take place in the area located in front of the Council Chamber.

 

 

 

 

 

Annual Symposium & Ceremony Dinner– 17 December 2025

The Annual Symposium & Ceremony Dinner will be held in the city of Geneva on the evening of Wednesday, 17 December 2025, at 20:00, at Café de Mategnin, located near CERN.

Founded in 1917, Café de Mategnin is a historic family restaurant offering traditional Swiss and French cuisine.

  • Optional participation (registration required)

  • Fee: CHF 50 (early) / CHF 60 (regular)

The organisation will provide transportation from CERN to the restaurant and return, with the return bus departing at approximately 22:00, including drop-off near the CERN main entrance and at the CERN Hostel.

Guided Scientific Visits at CERN – 17 December 2025

Participants will enjoy guided visits to two of CERN’s key research sites:

  • The Synchrocyclotron – CERN’s first accelerator

  • The ATLAS Visitor Centre – with immersive exhibits and potential underground access (subject to approval)

⚠️ Registration for visits is mandatory and must be completed through the official event registration form.

 

 

 

Optional: CERN Science Gateway (public access)

Participants who wish to explore further may also visit the CERN Science Gateway, a striking public science centre designed by architect Renzo Piano:

  • Free admission – no prior booking needed

  • Open Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00–17:00

  • Permanent exhibitions on CERN’s science, the Universe, and immersive simulations of underground research
