Speakers | Annual Symposium & Ceremony 2025

SPEAKERS

As in last year’s edition, the EurASc Annual Symposium 2025 has once again been opened to oral and poster contributions from both EurASc Fellows and external participants. We received a remarkable number of high-quality submissions reflecting the scientific excellence and diversity of our community. Due to the limited number of available speaking slots, it has not been possible to accommodate all excellent proposals for oral presentations, and the selection was made following a rigorous scientific review.

Day 1 – 17 December 2025

The Symposium will be introduced by the President of EurASc, Prof. Rodrigo Martins, the chairman of this 2025 EurASc conference, Prof. Paul Lecoq and the Director General of CERN, Prof. Fabiola Gianotti

The prestigious programme of the day will feature five keynote speakers and twelve selected speakers.

The Poster Session will run throughout the day. Posters will be displayed in the corridor between the two meeting rooms, where coffee breaks and the standing lunch will take place, allowing participants to engage directly with authors in an open and interactive format.

The first day of the Symposium will be concluded by the visit of the first Synchro-Cyclotron CERN accelerator and of the huge ATLAS experiment at the 27 km long Large Hadron Collider, 80 metres underground.

Day 2 – 18 December 2025

The second day will begin with the final keynote lecture of the Symposium, marking the start of a programme devoted to celebrating excellence within the Academy.

The morning session includes the presentations of the 2025 Leonardo da Vinci Award and the Blaise Pascal Medals, followed by lectures delivered by the laureates.

This will be followed by the Welcome Ceremony for the newly elected Members, during which they will formally receive their EurASc Membership Certificates.

EurASc will also present the Honor for Distinguished Leadership 2025, recognising the dedicated service of two past Presidents, Prof. Claude Debru and Prof. Saša Divjak. This distinction reflects the Academy’s gratitude for their leadership and long-standing contributions.

The day will conclude with the General Assembly of the Academy, bringing together EurASc Fellows to reflect on current activities and future directions.
