EurASc Annual Symposium & Ceremony 2024

The EurASc Annual Symposium & Ceremony 2024 will be held at the Academy of Sciences of Lisbon, on October 29-30th of 2024, under the General Theme of “Science for Sustainability” which is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

It is open to all the academics and researchers who will be interested to join, upon registration.

All the scientific fields fostering sustainability will be welcome according to the Divisions of EurASc:

Chemistry, Computational and information sciences, Earth and environmental sciences, Engineering, Materials science, Mathematics, Medicine and life sciences, Physics, and Social sciences and Humanities.

Promotion of the interaction between the academic and industrial sectors will also be fostered.

The scientific programme will comprehend the presentation of Lectures, discussions and the Award and PrizesCeremony, where the Leonardo da Vinci Award and the Blaise Pascal Medals for outstanding scientific achievements will be awarded and lectures will be delivered by the awardees. A Welcome session of the New Members is also being arranged.

Within the celebration of the EurASc 20th year anniversary, the edition of a celebratory book (to be published by a major world publisher) is under consideration.

A social programme is being planned, with guided tours to Lisbon and cultural places closeby.

Event Venue

The Symposium& Ceremony will be housed at the Academy of Sciences of Lisbon premises, a former Convent of Jesus of the XVII century, which is also in the town and with access to public transportation, including metro.

The Academy of Sciences of Lisbon is one of the oldest national scientific institutions in continuous existence. It was founded on 24 December 1779, during the reign of King Maria I, under the motto inspired by a verse from Phaedrus: Nisi utile est quod facimus stulta est gloria / If what we do is not useful, vain is the glory.

Registrations

Registration includes full access to scientific programme, conference materials, lunches and coffee-breaks. Registration for Accompanying Persons includes lunches but not access to scientific activities and materials.

We are excited to announce the call for abstracts for EurASc 2024, our prestigious annual event celebrating scientific excellence. Please carefully review the submission guidelines before submitting your abstracts:

Submission MethodAbstracts must be submitted via the Abstract Submission Form.

Content: Abstracts should describe original and significant new work in the field of science. They should contain enough detail to allow referees to make a sound assessment of the scientific merit of the work described. Abstracts are limited to one page and should be prepared using the provided Template.
