Message from the EurASc President

Dear Esteemed Fellows,
As an academic association, we are committed to promoting gender equity in science, creating an inclusive environment where diverse voices contribute to the advancement of knowledge, regardless of their geographic origin. Strengthening our connections with key scientific stakeholders and institutions is essential for fostering collaboration that drives impactful research and innovation, ultimately benefiting society by not only providing knowledge but also enhancing comfort and welfare.
As the President of the European Academy of Sciences, I am honoured to address you all and share our strategic vision for the future. Our aim is to enhance the Academy’s role in fostering excellence in science both within Europe and beyond, ensuring we remain at the forefront of innovation and collaboration in the global scientific community.
A significant milestone in our journey has been the establishment of our Asia-Pacific Hub, with a central location in Hefei and an active noddle in Chongqing. This initiative underscores our commitment to bridging scientific communities across continents and facilitating productive partnerships. We are excited to announce a series of events planned for both Europe and Asia, which will provide opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Moreover, we aspire to be influential players in shaping science policy—not only in Europe but also on a global scale. Our efforts will ensure that the voice of the scientific community is heard, and that our impact resonates worldwide.
The prestige of our Academy is reflected in the numerous awards and honours we bestow, alongside the high-ranking webinars, events, and seminars we host or contribute to. We are dedicated to supporting exceptional young researchers and laying the groundwork for a Young Talent Academy in Europe affiliated with us. This initiative will nurture the next generation of scientific leaders and ensure that our legacy of excellence endures.
I would also like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all members of the Presidium and the Executive Committee for their outstanding efforts. Together, with the divisions we plan to implement, we aim to cultivate an environment conducive to high-level achievements, with hopes of celebrating more Nobel Prize laureates from our Academy in the future, along with other prestigious honours received by our fellows.
Let us continue to work together towards our shared goals of excellence, collaboration, and impact. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to our mission.
Warm regards,
Rodrigo Martins
President of the European Academy of Sciences
