EurASc President Co-Chairs Major International Materials Science Conference in Guilin, China

The European Academy of Sciences (EurASc) is proud to announce that its President, Prof. Rodrigo Martins, will serve as Vice-Chair of the prestigious international conference IUMRS-ICA2025, which will take place from 14 to 17 October 2025 in Guilin, China.

The event, jointly titled:

  • 3rd World Materials Conference (WMC)

  • 9th World Materials Summit (WMS)

  • International Conference on Advanced Materials (IUMRS-ICA2025)

is co-organized by the International Union of Materials Research Societies (IUMRS) and the Materials Research Society of Korea (MRS-K).

With expected attendance reaching between 8,000 and 10,000 participants from across the globe, this will be one of the largest scientific gatherings in the field of materials science, second only to the annual conference of the Chinese Materials Research Society, which regularly hosts over 22,000 attendees.

The conference will feature cutting-edge symposia in all major areas of materials science and engineering, with a focus on sustainability, nanotechnology, energy materials, AI-driven materials design, quantum materials, and advanced manufacturing processes.

Prof. Rodrigo Martins, former President of IUMRS and world-renowned materials scientist, will co-chair this global event, bringing the unique perspective of EurASc to an international audience and strengthening bridges between European research and global innovation ecosystems.
