Scientific Committees
The Committees of the European Academy of Sciences (EurASc) play a central role in the scientific and organisational life of the Academy. They are composed of distinguished Fellows elected from among the Active Members and operate in accordance with the Statutes and Bylaws of the Association.
EurASc comprises two principal governing bodies:
-
The Presidium, responsible for strategic decisions, elections, statutes and financial governance.
-
The Executive Committee, which ensures operational continuity, coordination of activities, and execution of decisions.
In addition, EurASc is structured into nine Scientific Divisions, each with a Division Head and up to four elected Officers, supported by a Scientific Committee. These Committees guide the scientific direction of each Division, evaluate nominations for membership and awards, and support the Academy’s initiatives in promoting scientific excellence.
The General Board, which unites the Presidium and Division Heads, is responsible for validating membership elections and the awarding of the Blaise Pascal Medals, among other functions.
All Committees contribute to reinforcing the Academy’s mission: promoting excellence in science and technology across Europe and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration of the highest level.
