EurASc Head of Division Prof. Federico Rosei Honoured by the Royal Society of Chemistry

The award recognises Prof. Rosei “for outstanding contributions to the design, synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials with applications in renewable energy, and for excellence in communication.”

An internationally renowned materials scientist, Prof. Rosei has dedicated his career to advancing the understanding and development of nanostructured materials for sustainable technologies. His research has contributed significantly to the design of innovative materials for energy conversion, storage, optoelectronics, and next-generation functional devices, helping bridge fundamental discoveries with practical applications addressing global energy challenges.

Beyond his scientific achievements, Prof. Rosei is widely recognised for his commitment to scientific communication, international collaboration, and the mentoring of young researchers. Throughout his career, he has established extensive global research networks and has played a leading role in promoting excellence and cooperation across the international materials science community.

Currently Professor of Industrial Chemistry at the University of Trieste, Prof. Rosei has previously held several prestigious international appointments, including Director of the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique (INRS) in Canada, UNESCO Chair in Materials and Technologies for Energy Conversion, Saving and Storage, and Canada Research Chair in Nanostructured Materials.

Within EurASc, Prof. Rosei serves as Head of the Materials Science Division and is also a recipient of the Academy’s Blaise Pascal Medal in Materials Science (2019). His scientific leadership continues to strengthen EurASc’s mission of promoting excellence in research and international scientific cooperation.

The European Academy of Sciences warmly congratulates Prof. Rosei on this distinguished recognition and celebrates his continued contributions to advancing materials science for a more sustainable future.
