Prof. Endre Süli is Professor of Numerical Analysis at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford. His research focuses on the mathematical analysis of numerical algorithms for nonlinear partial differential equations, establishing rigorous foundations for computational mathematics and its applications in science and engineering. He is a Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences (EurASc) since 2010, Foreign Member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (2009), and a Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) since 2016. Among many international recognitions, he was an Invited Speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians (Madrid, 2006), and served as Chair of the Society for the Foundations of Computational Mathematics (2002–2005). Other honours include: Fellow of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (FIMA, 2007) Charlemagne Distinguished Lecturer (2011) IMA Service Award (2011) Honorary Professorship at Charles University in Prague (2012) President of the SIAM UK & Republic of Ireland Section (2013–2015) LMS/NZMS Forder Lecturer (2015) Within the European Academy of Sciences, Prof. Süli served two full terms as Head of the Division of Computational and Information Sciences : First mandate : March 2017 – March 2020 Second mandate : March 2020 – March 2023 (extended until March 2024 due to the COVID-19 pandemic)
