Fener Chen

Biography

Prof. Fener Chen is the full professor of Fudan University, Shanghai, China since 1997. He is appointed as the president of Jiangxi Normal University, Nanchang, China in 2023. He is an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Academician of the European Academy of Sciences. He is chairman of the Medicinal Chemistry Committee of Chinese Pharmaceutical Association, Editor-in-chief of Green Synthesis and Catalysis, Pharmaceutical Fronts, and Deputy Editor-in-chief of Chinese Chemical Letters, Journal of Chinese Pharmaceutical Science. Prof. Fener Chen is internationally recognized for his pioneering work in continuous flow chemistry, total synthesis of natural medicines, asymmetric homogeneous and heterogeneous organocatalysis, and synthetic pharmaceutical chemistry. His groundbreaking work earned him Second Prize of the State Technological Invention Award, Second Prize of the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award, China Patent Gold Award, three times of First Prize of provincial and ministerial Science and Technology Progress Awards, Ho Leung Ho Lee Science and Technology Progress Award, National Outstanding Science and Technology Research Worker, Shanghai Top Ten Science and Technology Elites Award, and many others. Prof.Chen has authored over 400 peer-reviewed publications, including Nature Reviews Chemistry, Chem. Rev., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.,Nature Commun.,Chem. Sci.,ACS Catal., ACS Sustain. Chem. Eng., J. Med. Chem., Acta Pharm. Sin. B, Adv. Syn. Catal. He has applied for over 300 invention patents in China, the United States, and the European Union, and 150 patents have been granted.
